What happens if I lose grip of the handles?

The Manta is designed with safety in mind. If you lose grip, it automatically shuts off and floats to the surface, making it easy to grab again. This ensures it won't keep running without proper control.

How long does it take to charge the Manta?

It depends on the battery size. The 126Wh battery charges in about 2–3 hours. Detailed instructions are included with the product.

Are the Manta scooters and Mako kickboards waterproof?

Yes. The Manta underwater scooters and Mako electric kickboards are designed and tested for use underwater. They are fully waterproof and tested to operate to a depth of 50 m (164 ft). All components are built to withstand continual water exposure and pressure.

What are the thrust, speed, and operating time of the Manta collection?

The Manta collection has three gear settings (High, Medium, and Low), each with a different level of thrust and speed:

GearSpeed (m/s)Run time (min)Thrust (kgf)
High0.6704.5
Medium1406.5
Low1.5249

As battery power gets low, the scooter gradually reduces speed and shifts to a lower gear. This is normal. Operating time depends on battery size, water conditions, and your speed selection.

How many speed modes does the Manta collection have?

Three speed modes: High, Medium, and Low. You can easily switch between them using the controls on the device to suit your dive.

What are the dimensions of the Manta?

527 mm × 213 mm × 173 mm (20.4 in × 8.4 in × 6.8 in), without the battery. When shipping, it's recommended to disassemble the battery to save space.

Does the Manta come with a sport camera?

No, the Manta includes a camera mount, but the camera itself is purchased separately.

What type of camera can be attached to the Manta?

The mount is compatible with cameras that use a GoPro-style mount, so a GoPro or any camera that fits a GoPro base will work. Always confirm compatibility with the camera manufacturer before purchasing.

Can I disassemble and replace the Manta's battery?

Yes. The battery can be removed for charging, replacement, or shipping. Consult the user manual or contact us for the specific steps before attempting it.

Are the batteries included with my purchase?

Yes. The standard package includes: 1× Sea Scooter, 1× Battery Pack, 1× AC Charger, 1× Carry Bag, 1× Protection Leash, and 1× User Manual.

Can I bring the Manta on a plane?

The Manta has a 126Wh battery. Most airlines allow devices with batteries up to 160Wh on board, but regulations vary. Always check with your airline before travelling, and follow the transport guidance in the manual as well as the regulations of your destination country.

Can I replace the battery underwater or submerge the battery pack?

No. Water exposure through the battery interface may damage components and create safety hazards.

Why must I rinse with fresh water?

Salt crystals from seawater and chlorine from pools can corrode components. Rinse with fresh water immediately after use (ideally within 5 minutes). Delaying accelerates corrosion.

What should I do if the motor suddenly stops?

This may be caused by sand intrusion in the motor compartment. Submerge the device in water for several minutes, then repeatedly activate the motor until normal operation resumes.

What if the battery won't charge?

Let the battery cool to ambient temperature before charging, and avoid high-temperature storage environments.

Is the Manta compatible with GoPro or other action cameras?

Yes. The integrated mount supports standard action cameras, including the GoPro Series, Insta360 Ace Pro, DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro, and Sony RX0 II.

How do I maintain the Manta?
  • Soak and rinse with fresh water after use in seawater to avoid corrosion on the propeller and other parts.
  • Keep the battery charging port away from seawater.
  • Max use time can reach up to 45 minutes, but varies with environment, user weight, and flow resistance.
  • To extend battery life, fully charge the battery after use, store it separately, and recharge every 2 months.
How do I remove corrosion on the battery contacts?

If you see a green/white layer on the battery contact points:

  • Step 1: Mix vinegar and salt and wipe the contact surface with the mixture to remove the layer and restore shine.
  • Step 2: Let it dry naturally. For long-term storage, apply a little wax or Vaseline, store separately, and recharge every 2 months.
Does the sea scooter sink into the water?

No, it floats slightly on the water.

Can I replace the battery underwater or put the battery pack into water?

No, it's not safe. The connector between the battery pack and the main board will break.

Is the sea scooter waterproof?

Yes. The battery, motor, and main board connectors are waterproof. Water will enter the body while using it, which is normal.

Why do I need to rinse it with fresh water after use?

Seawater contains salt crystals and sand particles, and pools contain chlorine/acids that cause corrosion. Rinse with fresh water within a few minutes after the dive. The longer you delay, the more damage can occur.

Why should the battery and scooter be kept dry?

Make sure the battery and main board connectors are completely dry before storage. Otherwise, oxidation through electrolysis after power-on can cause damage.

How do I install the U1 on a stand-up paddleboard?

It's very straightforward. The U1 comes with three adapters (Slide & Lock, US Fin Adapter, and Flip & Lock) that fit 99% of stand-up paddleboards for a quick, seamless setup.

What speed modes does the U1 offer?

Three speed modes: slow, medium, and fast. It reaches a top speed of 12 km/h, with specific speeds and battery life varying by mode.

How do I use the U1 for diving and paddling?

For paddling, simply connect it to a stand-up paddleboard using the adapter. For diving, operate it by holding onto the hydrofoil.

What is the maximum diving depth of the U1?

The U1 has a maximum diving depth of 50 metres.

How does the U1 perform on rough seas?

The U1 is built for excellent control on both calm lakes and rough seas. Its powerful propulsion and multiple speed modes maintain strong performance across various water conditions.

The motor does not turn (green-light flash codes)

The four green lights flash together to indicate the fault:

  • Flash 1×: Motor shaft lock protection. The motor is stuck; check for and remove any object stuck in the propeller.
  • Flash 2×: Low battery warning. Please charge the battery.
  • Flash 4×: Overvoltage. The control board or battery pack is damaged; replace the control board or battery pack.
  • Flash 5×: Overcurrent protection. The control board is damaged; replace it.
  • Flash 6×: Static current problem. The controller is damaged; replace the control board.
  • Flash 7× or 9×: The controller is damaged; replace the control board.
The battery cannot be charged

If the adapter light is off when charging: possible charging short circuit. 1) Check if the plug inserted into the battery pack is reversed. 2) If the connection is correct, the charger is damaged; replace the charger.

If fully charged but the scooter still doesn't work: 1) The induction battery-pack magnet may not be installed or is out of position; disassemble the shell and install the magnet correctly. 2) The built-in magnetic switch induction may be abnormal; replace the switch. If the issue persists, replace the battery.

The scooter does not stop when I release both levers

The built-in magnetic switch is faulty (magnetic force in the same direction). Replace the magnetic switch.
